The cultural center Ancient House “Hippocrates Garden” is located in Mastichari, Kos Island.It is an exact replica of an Ancient Greek Settlement in the 5th century B.C.It specializes in the revealation of the ancient Greek way of life at the time when the great Greek doctor lived.
It consists of an “oikos,” an exact replica of a house of this period, a philosopher ' s arcade and a stone built theater. In these buildings we will pursue philosophical and spiritual matters and we will make our acquaintance with the ancient Greek medicine and daily life.
- “Οikos,” the House, is a two storey stone building, made of local stone. Old tiles are placed on the wooden roof . The handmade furniture are replicas of ancient ones. At the House, the following seminars take place: philosophy, stone and pebble mosaics, agriculture, cooking and bread making
.
- Philosopher's arcade is also made according to ancient times. There is a handmade pebble mosaic on the floor, bas relief copies of ancient themes on the walls and a library.
